| Texas Tech University sent a group of thirteen faculty and staff to
Southeast Asia for four weeks in Summer 2004. The journey was funded by
the
Fulbright-Hays Group Study
Abroad program. The purpose of the project was to increase Texas
Tech's ability to teach effectively on topics related to Southeast Asia,
to establish ties to academic counterparts in Vietnam, Laos, and
Cambodia, and to encourage faculty research projects. An important part
of the project is to make the results available to the public and the
educational community.
Working through the International Cultural Center,
the Vietnam Center, the Asian Studies Program and other Texas Tech
programs, the Study Abroad Group seeks to organize programs for young
people, refine students' knowledge of Asia and Southeast Asia, encourage
cultural understanding and language study, and contribute to academic
conferences.
This website provides access to photos, films,
presentations, articles, and resources that have resulted from the Group
Study Abroad project.
