Application Deadlines
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) reviews applications from prospective graduate students two times a year. The deadlines for receipt of applications are as follows:- Deadline for Fall Semester Admission: February 1
- Deadline for Spring Semester Admission: August 1
Supplemental application materials are required by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and should be mailed directly to the Department at the address below. These materials are the following:
- Three letters of recommendation on letterhead
- Statement of purpose
- Résumé

Please note that the ECE Department also requires that graduate applicants take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The easiest way for applicants to send their examination scores is simply to indicate on the GRE that Texas Tech University (institution code 6827) is one of the schools to which the scores should be sent.
Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed during the following review cycle if the applicant wishes. The ECE Department occasionally makes exceptions to the stated deadlines for Texas Tech undergraduate students who are entering the 150-Hour Program* and at the request of a department faculty member recruiting a specific student.
