New Faculty Search

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has multiple tenure track open positions and invites applications at the assistant/associate professor level in the following areas:

Electronic Systems for wireless sensor networks and health care monitoring systems; Energy and Power Systems including sustainable energy systems; Pulsed Power with expertise in high power microwaves, antennas, and power electronics; and Computer Engineering in the areas of computer architecture, microprocessor and embedded systems, and networked computing. Exceptional candidates in other emerging research areas are also encouraged to apply. The Department has established areas of excellence in Pulsed Power & Power Electronics, Nano-Photonics, Semiconductor Processing, Computer Vision, Medical Image and Signal Processing, Wireless Communications, Hybrid Control Systems, Mixed Signal/Analog and VLSI Circuit Design, and Power Systems. Excellent laboratory facilities are available in the Pulsed Power and Semiconductor Processing areas.

 

A Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field is required. Successful candidates are expected to teach existing undergraduate and graduate courses, to develop new courses, develop strong research programs and engage in professional service activities. Entrepreneurship in the development of research in emerging areas is encouraged and rewarded. We encourage and foster team spirit and cooperation within the department as well as across disciplines. For the position in the Pulsed Power area, the applicants must be eligible for a US Secret Clearance. ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The College of Engineering is a dynamic enterprise with 3400 undergraduates, 600 graduate students and nearly 140 faculty members.
