A large part of Rose's professional work has been in the area of Education.  Although not a native to West Texas, Rose made Lubbock her home in 1989, when she moved here to attend Texas Tech University.  Rose was employed in the Public Relations department at Covenant Health System as a Coordinator who collaborated with Lubbock ISD-Harwell Elementary while working on her undergraduate degree.  Rose taught English as a Second Language and GED classes to parents of the students enrolled at Harwell Elementary.  Rose also researched, developed and worked on fundraising with non-profit agencies in our community. In 2004 Rose served as a Lead-Teacher to develop and implement classroom lessons to facilitate support groups and training in life skills, refusal skills, coping skills, team building, adolescent issues, media literacy, drug education and violence prevention.  Rose provided support to her director, for at-risk students and was also involved in research and development of curricula and resources.  Rose is certified as a Spanish bilingual generalist, which has proven to be an invaluable skill that allowed her to provide bilingual parenting classes and conduct presentations to the Hispanic population in our community.  In 2010, Rose worked as a research assistant and liaison between Lubbock ISD vocational classrooms and Texas Tech University collecting data, lessons, assessments and eligibility paperwork for the special needs population. Most recently, Rose serves as a Tech Teach Site Coordinator and Instructor in the Teacher Education program at Texas Tech University.
