Sylvia Méndez-Morse, PhD is an Associate Professor at Texas Tech University. Her lines of inquiry are primarily constructed around issues of educational equity for marginalized individuals. Dr. Méndez publications are focused on Latina educational leaders and the influence of racial/ethnic identity in these educational leaders’ praxis. She is part of the National Latino/a Leadership Project [NLLP] and has presented as well as co-authored various papers and articles based on the NLLP national survey. Sylvia has articles published in Educational Administration Quarterly, Urban Education, Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership, and other research journalsShe has contributed chapters to several books such as Reconsidering Feminist Perspectives in Educational Leadership. Sylvia was a section editor for the Handbook of Research on Educational Leadership for Equity and Diversity as well as a co-author of a chapter in this book. Dr. Méndez’s most recent publication is in the Journal of Latinos and Education.
