TTU Blackboard Course Implemented Archival and Restoration Policies

Blackboard Learn 9.1
(Current version of Blackboard)
Blackboard Learn 9.1 courses can be archived from the "live" Blackboard server one year after the end of the semester in which it is taught per the TTU Blackboard Archival Policy (i.e. a Fall 2013 course would become eligible for archival on December 31, 2014.) Archived course content can be restored to Blackboard Learn 9.1 with approval from the requestor's department. Please see the Restoration Instructions below for more information. Faculty members and instructors who wish to request an exception to the archival policy for a specific course may work with their college's designee to initiate the exception request.

Blackboard CE 8
(Previous version of Blackboard)
All Blackboard CE8 courses have been archived per the TTU Blackboard Archival Policy. Archived course content can be restored into Blackboard Learn 9.1 with approvals from the requestor's department. Please see the Restoration Instructions below for more information.

Restoration Instructions for Learn 9.1 and CE 8
Faculty members who wish to request a restoration of a course that has been archived should work with their college's designee as listed below to initiate the course restoration approval. Please fill out the Blackboard Course Restore Request with the full course title as it was listed in Blackboard, e.g. 201627-ABCD-1234-001. Your course cannot be identified or restored without the term, subject, number, and section! Once approved, restoration of a course may take up to five business days. Please note that only the course materials are restored – student data is not included in the restoration.

Faculty need to contact the Academic Associate Dean of their college.

If you have any questions, please feel free to work with your college designee to initiate a restoration. Contact TTU Blackboard Support at blackboard@ttu.edu if you have other questions about this process.
