Texas Tech University at Collin partners with Collin College, a two-year public institution serving over 50,000 students annually. Located in McKinney, TTU Collin offers students the opportunity to become professionals that are excited about supporting their community.

Many Collin College students enroll with the intention of transferring to a larger university after their freshman or sophomore year and Phebe Dowels displays full support for that transition.

Phebe is the new admissions counselor for TTU at Collin, and she is ready to assist students with seamless enrollment to Texas Tech University by providing support with all their admissions needs.

"Witnessing students enroll and achieving successful results," she said, "is what I love about this role."

Phebe says that the key to a successful transition means providing timely and accurate information about the university resources so students can make well-informed decisions.

"This role provides many opportunities to celebrate student success," she explained. "Passing a course, receiving a scholarship or an award, even internships and promotions."

Outside of work Phebe enjoys good food, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. She also enjoys kickboxing and sunsets at the lake!

Recently, TTU at Collin provided students the opportunity to pursue continuing education in the Restaurant, Hotel, and Intuitional Management (RHIM) field. TTU at Collin is also eager to welcome Joseph S. Kleypas as a new RHIM instructor.

Joseph Kleypas is not only a graduate instructor with the department of Hospitality and Retail Management, he is also a Ph.D. student finishing the TTU RHIM program

"Our department has great relationships," he said. "In both the hospitality and retail industries."

To prepare students for top hospitality career opportunities, Joseph will lead RHIM 2312: Introduction to Wine, Beer, and Spirits, but he also teaches and develops other RHIM courses such as Restaurant Operations and Dinner Series Capstone.

Consistently ranked as one of the nation's top programs, Joseph emphasizes the department's mission to prepare students for long-term careers and not just jobs post-graduation.

"Mentorship and student development have certainly been the most rewarding part of my job."

Outside of work, Joseph can be found on the golf course, enjoying a great movie and traveling when he can.
