24/7/365 Support for Online and Distance Students

by Justin R Louder, EdD, Associate Vice Provost

On December 22, 2016, TTU Worldwide eLearning started offering 24/7 student support services to Tech's fully online and regional site students. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requires institutions to provide the same student support services to online/distance students that we do to face-to-face students. Opening up this new 24/7 portal and combining it with a toll-free number allows the institution to comply with SACSCOC and other standards set forth by various groups overseeing online/distance education.

This service will provide online and distance students with support related to advising, registration, financial aid, billing, Blackboard, and IT issues, including phone support and online chat 24/7. Currently, the service is limited to fully online or distance students enrolled in one of Texas Tech's regional site or online/distance degree programs. If students need to utilize any of the above-mentioned services, they can go to the following link or call one of the two numbers listed below.  As I mentioned above, the website will provide live chat as well.

Website (resources and live chat): studentservices.elearning.ttu.edu

24/7 phone support: (806) 853-5153 or toll-free (844) 897-0537

You will notice that the Worldwide eLearning website has been updated with information on online/distance student support services as well.  We hope your online students will find these services beneficial.

In mid-January, the Admissions and Retention portion of the service will go live so prospective distance/online students can get information and talk to a recruiter anytime they want to get more information about one of Texas Tech's more than 60 online or distance programs.
