Several conferences focusing on aspects of distance education are upcoming over the next few months. Conferences scheduled for September through December 2017 are listed below. 

QM Connect Conference

WCET Annual Meeting
October 25-27
Denver CO

WCET, the leader in the practice, policy and advocacy of technology-enhanced learning in higher education, brings together innovative thinkers and pragmatic solutions during the Annual Meeting. The conference program includes diverse ideas and institutions and is a mix of facilitated discussions, in-depth deep dive sessions on a trending topic or issue, an edtech meet and greet and panel presentations.

Texas Blackboard Users Group (T-BUG) Conference
October 31 – November 3
San Antonio, TX

Hosted by Texas Tech University, this year's theme is "Creating Learning Opportunities for Everyone," and is geared toward faculty, instructional designers and technologists and administrators to discuss issues associated with Blackboard. Of special interest this year is a focus on accessibility and equal educational opportunity, what that entails and how Blackboard plays into the discussion. The conference will also include pre-conference sessions, as well as specialty training provided by Blackboard. Ron Nail of TTU eLearning & Academic Partnerships is the T-BUG President this year and leads the committee that is hosting this conference.

EDUCAUSE Annual Conference
October 31 – November 3
Philadelphia, PA

The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference hosts professionals and technology providers from around the world to network, share ideas and discover solutions to today's challenges. Attendees have access to the largest gathering people to relate to, learn from and actively contribute to the best thinking in higher education IT.

AECT International Convention
November 7-11
Jacksonville, FL

This year's convention theme is Leading Learning for Change. The goal of the convention is for participants from around the globe to network and to learn from the experiences and activities of the convention, enriching their lives and their professional and practical skills. Of particular interest at our Jacksonville Convention is a focus on leading learning for change in an interconnected world. Scholars, practitioners and students from around the globe will have many opportunities to network with others and to learn from the varied experiences and activities of the convention. The theme is intended to emphasize the interconnected nature of our world and the work we do, which often is subject to rapid change as both theory and practice evolve.

Accessing Higher Ground - Accessible Media, Web and Technology Conference
November 13-17

Accessing Higher Ground focuses on the implementation and benefits of accessible media, Universal Design and Assistive Technology in the university, business and public setting; legal and policy issues, including ADA and 508 compliance; the creation of accessible media and information resources, including Web pages and library resources; campus accommodation; and curriculum accessibility.
