About the Program

The Master of Plant and Soil Science degree program at a distance is designed specifically to meet the needs of today's working professional. This program includes the study of plant genetics, breeding, biotechnology, molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, weed control, and crop management as applied to efficient and economical production of field crops. The program also allows students to study how to use and manage the application of biological, chemical and physical sciences with regard to natural and human-affected environments. The Master of Plant and Soil Science includes one of the following specialization areas: crop science, soil science, crop protection, and fibers and biopolymers.
