Raw cookie dough and homemade ice cream contain raw eggs. children (and adults) like to eat these, but they could be exposed to Salmonella. To prevent this, use egg beaters or pasteurized whole eggs sold in carton to make either of these products. Home made ice cream can also be cooked before it is frozen to kill the Salmonella.
Cookie dough ice cream and ready to cook raw cookie dough contain pasteurized eggs so they are alright to eat.
