Texas, Boundary
This layer contains a detailed boundary of Texas. This polygon file was designed for small scale thematic mapping and analysis.
The spatial data originated from the USGS National Hydrography Dataset. Geoprocessing was performed to replace 1:500,000 TIGER boundaries with 1:100,000 detailed NHD Texas river boundaries. Attributes were further modified to include only name, abbreviation, region, and FIPS code information. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
This layer was created through various geoprocessing procedures. The Texas 1:500,000 TIGER boundaries that included the Rio Grande, Red River, and the Sabine Rivers were replaced with the 1:100,000 detailed NHD data. The resulting layer is a hybrid between the TIGER 500k boundary and detailed NHD Rivers.
