This layer contains the Jurisdictional boundary of Texas with census tract boundaries. This layer also includes 2010 Census attributes. This boundary file was designed for medium to large scale thematic mapping and analysis.
The spatial data were obtained from the US Census Bureau and are current as of 2010. The data originated from the Jurisdictional US Census detailed TIGER tract data. Demographic attributes from the American FactFinder website were joined to the block groups. Attributes were modified to include only county name, geoid10, FIPS, tract, and area information. Demographic attributes include population, age, gender, race, and household information. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
