This layer contains rivers and streams in watersheds that are within and extend beyond the Texas state boundary. This line file was specifically designed for medium to large scale thematic mapping and analysis.
The spatial data were obtained from the USGS National Hydrography Dataset. This dataset was clipped to the Watershed Boundary Dataset for Hydrologic Unit 8 (WDBHU8) that was downloaded from the USDA NRCS WDB website. The WDBHU8 watershed boundaries are current as of September 2014. The Attributes were modified to include only river name and various identification codes. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
