Summary 

This layer contains a detailed boundary of the US with county boundaries. This polygon file was designed for medium scale thematic mapping and analysis.

Description 

            

              

                

                  

                    The spatial data originated from the US Census Bureau and are current as of 2010. The US county boundaries were downloaded from the Census US county 1:500,000 data and the census attributes were deleted. Attributes were further modified to include county name, state, state abbreviation, population, area information, and FIPS code information. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
