Summary

This layer contains a jurisdictional boundary of the US with state boundaries that extends up to 3.5 miles from the coastline. This polygon file was designed for multi-scale thematic mapping and analysis.

Description

            

The spatial data originated from the US Census Bureau and are current as of 2010. The US state boundaries were downloaded from the Census US State Jurisdictional data and the census attributes were deleted. Attributes were further modified to include state name, state abbreviation, FIPS code, region, area information, and population The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
