Summary 

This layer contains locations of major ports around the world. This point file is intended for medium thematic mapping and analysis.

Description 

            

              

                

                  

                    The spatial data were obtained from Natural Earth. This layer derives from High Seas, a detailed GIS compilation of worldwide ports that is in the public domain. Attributes were modified to include 
                    Attributes were modified to scalerank, tyype, name, website, and natlscale. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
