International Studies at Texas Tech

Texas Tech offers undergradate and graduate degrees in Global Affairs and International Studies. Degrees in these programs are interdisciplinary. Students are encouraged to undertake Study Abroad as part of their college experience. Language proficiency is required.


Undergraduate: General Studies offers a Specialization in Global Affairs that allows students to design a degree plan appropriate to their career goals and interests. Dr. John Barkdull, Political Science, is the advisor.


The International Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary option for students who wish to add some coursework in world affairs to their major course of studies. Dr. Barkdull advises students who choose International Studies as their minor.


Graduate: The Masters of International Affairs is an interdisciplinary degree that is intended to prepare students for careers in international settings and further academic pursuits. Dr. Dennis Patterson, Political Science, advises students in this program.
