Research Poster Printing

Research Poster Printing Cover

We are a not-for-profit print shop operating out of the Graduate Center and offering subsidized low cost printing of research posters to Texas Tech University's graduate students and postdocs. Our model is we pay half you pay half.

We optimize our services for low cost. Because of this our print quality is decent but it is not always perfect. If you don't like how your poster looks like after we printed it you are not obligated to purchase it.

Getting started

Start designing your poster by downloading one of Texas Tech branded academic poster templates. Use of our templates is not required but it is recommended.

Read one of the academic poster design tutorials available on the web. We think the MakeSigns design tutorial is simple, straight to the point, and touches on most of the important parts.

Before you Submit your Poster

  • Large format poster printing is limited to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • We will not design, format, or otherwise edit posters for you. What you submit for printing is exactly what gets printed.
  • After you finish designing your poster export it to a PDF format. This will help assure that your poster will look printed the same way it looked on your computer.
  • Save time and money, review and revise your poster before submitting it for print. We will be glad to print a free 8.5" x 11" drafts for proofing prior to printing your full-size poster. First print of any poster is at a heavily subsidized price of $10. Any re-prints cost $20.

Cost

First print of any poster up to 42" x 56" costs $10. We accept cash or check. Any re-print thereafter costs $20.

Format

We recommend that you converted your poster to PDF format before submitting it to us. PDF helps ensure that what you see on the screen is what you get in print. Poster should be submitted in a single file preferably with embedded fonts. Posters should be designed at actual print size, for example 36" x 48".

Medium

We only print on one type of paper, heavy-weight coated bond paper. For printing on any other medium or having your poster mounted on the foam board we recommend using College of Architecture's Print Bureau

Dimensions

We currently can accommodate posters with dimensions of up to 42 inches on the shortest side. It can be as long as you need it (within a reason).

Print time

We recommend submitting posters at least 5 business days ahead of desired pickup time. Our reservation system will not let you schedule poster printing appointment less than 2 days in advance.
