Program Description

The candidate for the doctoral degree must complete 8 core courses in economics (24 credit hours). Additionally, the candidate must choose three specializations from within the areas of international economics, monetary economics, public finance, labor economics, natural resource economics, industrial organization, or special fields of economics. In addition, the doctoral student must demonstrate a mathematical proficiency in calculus and analytical geometry.

How To Apply

1) Apply to Graduate School : Fill out the online application at Apply Texas.

2) Pay your application fee: $60 initial application fee, $50 for each subsequent application (including changes of entry date, add/change program, or readmission). Application fees may be paid via ApplyTexas at the time of application submission or by credit card on our website.

3) Contact the Graduate Program Coordinator in your prospective department. Many departments have separate application requirements and deadlines, and the Graduate Program Coordinator will be able to assist you in your application process.

4) Send application requirements, from all of the colleges and universities that you have attended to Texas Tech University Graduate School.
