Program Description

Certificates: Teacher Leadership (new) online only. If you want to be a teacher leader, this 15-hour certificate is for you. The certificate will hone your skills in instructional leadership, data-driven decision making and communication, communication, and mentoring. Why these skills? Because we know that teacher leaders who are skilled in instructional leadership, data communication, and communication can help improve student achievement. By establishing and maintaining relationships, teacher leaders can mentor novice teachers to hone the skills they need to be successful. Superintendent Certification Program (campus and regional)a 15 credit-hour program. This program prepares students interested in pursuing careers as School District Superintendents in Texas. The program is pleased to announce that three courses are now incorporated into the Ed.D. program for dual credit. In addition to coursework requirements, the Texas Education Agency requires Texas certification as a teacher and principal and at least two years of TEA-approved teaching experience. SBECs School Superintendent TExES examination must also be passed. Information regarding the TExES for school superintendent certification and registration materials are available from the College of Education Certification Office.

For domestic applicants, there is no specific Graduate Admissions deadline, although we encourage domestic applicants to apply at least three (3) months in advance of the semester to which they want to apply.

How To Apply

1) Apply to Graduate School : Fill out the online application at Apply Texas.

2) Pay your application fee: $60 initial application fee, $50 for each subsequent application (including changes of entry date, add/change program, or readmission). Application fees may be paid via ApplyTexas at the time of application submission or by credit card on our website.

3) Contact the Graduate Program Coordinator in your prospective department. Many departments have separate application requirements and deadlines, and the Graduate Program Coordinator will be able to assist you in your application process.

4) Send application requirements, from all of the colleges and universities that you have attended to Texas Tech University Graduate School.
