Commencement

The Graduate School May Commencement will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. in the United Spirit Arena. This ceremony is for Graduate (Doctoral & Masters) students only.

Students will enter through the Drive-in Bay entry at the North end of the Arena (the big ramp where trucks come in). Tables will be located in the Practice Court with cards to be picked up (printed with student's name and a number). You will be lined up by college for instructions and form a processional line to go into the Arena. Students (and professors hooding doctoral students) should arrive no later than 5:30 P.M. Please do NOT be late because we may not be able to place you into the program. Doctoral candidates will carry their hoods, be formally hooded by their professor(s) and receive their diplomas at the Ceremony. Master's candidates will wear their hoods. Their diplomas will be given out in the Practice Court immediately following the Ceremony. Map of the Practice Court.

NOTE: We will proceed into the Arena promptly at 6:45 P.M.
PLEASE BE THERE BY 5:30 P.M. - OR WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLACE YOU IN THE CEREMONY..

There will be an Undergraduate Ceremony on the same day at 4:00 P.M. Because of potential traffic concerns, parking for graduate students, family and friends is encouraged at the Satellite parking lots at 10th and Texas Tech Parkway. Shuttle bus service will be available from 5 p.m. until after the Graduate School Ceremony.

DO NOT BRING PURSES, KEYS OR CAMERAS TO THE PRACTICE COURT - Leave these items with family members or friends.
