MissionThe Lone Star Graduate Diversity Colloquium was established in 2006 as one means to further the statewide Closing the Gaps Initiative. It is a collective effort by all colleges and universities in Texas to encourage more underrepresented minorities, women, and first generation college students currently enrolled at Texas colleges and universities to stay in Texas to complete their graduate education. |

Target PopulationIntended for students from historically under-represented populations who are interested in attending graduate school within the State of Texas.
Every university in Texas is invited to help sponsor their respective students who wish to attend. |
2008 Colloquium
Conference sessions are directed toward addressing issues related to under-represented groups and first generation college students.
Workshops for students to include topics such as:
- Applying to graduate school
- Preparing for entrance exams
- Funding graduate school
- Value of undergraduate research
- Distance education options for graduate study
Events including a recruitment fair are planned beginning Friday afternoon until lunch on Saturday.
Master's and Doctoral degree granting institutions are invited and encouraged to attend.
Your registration fee covers meals, materials and all conference activities.
