Mr. Brian Chavez, attorney-at-law, Odessa, TX
Brian J. Chavez received a JD from TTU in 1996. His father, Jose A. "Tony" Chavez and brother, Adrian A. Chavez received their JDs from TTU in 1978 and 1994, respectively. He founded The Mexican American Law Student Association at Texas Tech Law School in 1995.
Chavez is a Partner, along with his father and brother, of The Chavez Law Firm, located in Odessa, TX. Chavez is admitted and licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and all other Texas courts. He a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (Executive Director 2001-2002), The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The College of The State Bar of Texas, The American Bar Association and The Ector County Bar Association.
Chavez was born September 24, 1970 and currently resides in Odessa, TX. He received a BA in Government from Harvard in 1993. A former tight end for Permian High School, he was was one of the featured players in the H.G. Bissinger book about West Texas football, Friday Night Lights and was portrayed by the actor Jay Hernandez in the movie version of the book.
