Graduate Scholarships and Fellowships at Texas Tech University

The Graduate School is pleased to offer these noted fellowships and scholarships to Texas Tech University graduate students/ Please note that graduate financial opportunities are available through both the Graduate School and graduate academic departments. The scholarships below are administered through the Graduate School and students should contact their academic department for any other scholarship or assistantship opportunities. Applying for the scholarships listed below does not automatically submit your name for a departmental scholarship or vice versa.

Applicants do not have to be officially admitted to a TTU graduate program when applying for our scholarships. If a student is awarded a scholarship, it will be contingent on them officially applying, being admitted and enrolling in the program area that they indicated on their scholarship application.

The majority of the awards range from $2,000-$4,000/year. Last fiscal year, the Graduate School disbursed 277 scholarship and fellowship awards for a total of $758,900. Below you will find contact information, application forms, eligibility requirements, and deadlines. For specific questions, please email us at gradfellowships@ttu.edu.

You may apply for more than one scholarship; at the same time, please select the scholarships that you are eligible for. Two of the awards below are specified for part-time students to apply (less than 9 hrs for Fall and Spring, less than 6 hrs for Summer) - Preston and Ima Smith Scholarship (full and part-time students) and the Helen DeVitt Jones Part-time scholarship. All other fellowships are for full-time students only. Only students pursuing a graduate degree at Texas Tech University may apply (this excludes students from the Health Sciences Center and the Law School).

Scholarship awarding is based on a holistic approach and takes into account all factors surrounding scholarship and need.

Additional fellowship or scholarship opportunities through Texas Tech University graduate departments (not administered through the Graduate School).
