Preston and Ima Smith Graduate Scholarship
| Award Amount: | The typical award amount is $500 – $1,000 for one year, depending on full-time or part-time status. |
| Eligibility: | The Preston and Ima Smith Endowed Graduate Scholarship is available for new and continuing graduate students pursuing research unique to the West Texas region. Typical majors include, but are not limited to, agricultural sciences, biological sciences, environmental, plant and soil science, water resources/conservation, and wind science and engineering. Applicants may be either full-time or part-time graduate students.Awards are for one academic year, beginning in the fall, and students may re-apply at the end of the award period. The award amount is disbursed evenly for Fall and Spring Semesters.Eligible graduate students include on-campus and distance education students who are pursuing any master’s or doctoral program, teacher certification program (CERT/FCSC), graduate certificate program (GCERT), or joint degree program (for the joint degree, this scholarship will only be applied while you are taking courses within Texas Tech University). Students pursuing a non-degree such as Post-graduate (PGRD), Graduate Temporary (GTMP), Continuing Professional Educational Development (CPED), or students who are pursuing a degree at the Texas Tech University Law School or Health Sciences Center are not eligible to apply. |
