Graduate School Junction Summer Scholarship

The Texas Tech Graduate School announces the availability of ten $500 scholarships for graduate students who intend to study at the Texas Tech Junction campus in Summer 2011.

Award Amount:

$500 per summer

Eligibility:

The Junction Summer Scholarship is available to new and continuing full-time master's and doctoral students in any academic discipline studying at the Texas Tech campus at Junction during a summer session.

Criteria for selection are:

  1. Consideration is given to students who need a specific course that is being taught only in Junction.
  2. The applicant must enroll for at least 3 hours of graduate credit at Junction in May or Summer of 2011.

Required Documents:

  • Courses to be taken at the Junction campus
  • Test Scores, if applicable (GRE, GMAT); GPA; Publications (number of refereed, non-refereed and creative productions); Financial - Amount of total school loans to date; Community Service Activities; Personal Statement
  • Resumé
  • Transcripts -- You need to include transcripts from your current program as well as your immediate prior degree program. An unofficial copy of your Texas Tech transcript can be obtained from the RaiderLink Portal. Official transcripts are not required.
  • Letters of recommendation Applicants may upload one letter of recommendation at their discretion. This is not a requirement

Application Process:

All scholarship and fellowship applications must be submitted through our online system. Applicants will be notified of award decisions approximately eight weeks after the deadline.

Some application materials must be submitted in PDF format. To convert documents to PDF, applicants may:

  • Use Adobe Acrobat (not Adobe Reader) on the on-campus computers in the library ATLC. Staff at the ATLC are also available to assist students with scanning files to create PDFs.
  • Download a free, trial version of Adobe Acrobat from the Adobe web site.
  • Use free, third-party PDF conversion software available on the web (e.g. PDFonlineor Cute PDF).
