Texas Tech Lifelong Learning Offers Course on Reverse Mortgages

Texas Tech’s Lifelong Learning Community will off the course “Understanding Reverse Mortgages” on Tuesday, February 22nd, 6-7:30 pm in the conference room next to the TTU administration offices located at 102 E. San Antonio St., Suite D in Fredericksburg.
This course provides information on reverse mortgages, a special type of loan used by older Americans to convert the equity in their homes into cash. The desire to “Age in Place”—to remain in one’s own home for as long as possible—is a personal goal consistently expressed by older Americans. The money from a reverse mortgage can provide the financial security needed to enjoy the retirement years. Attorney J.R. McCracken will outline the “ins-and-outs” of reverse mortgages and then answer questions.
Mr. McCracken is a practicing attorney with extensive experience in law and financial and estate planning. He is a Certified as a Financial Planner, Financial Consultant, Life Underwriter and Senior Advisor.
The course is free to Lifelong Learning Members and $5 for non-members. Advanced registration is advised as seating is limited. Refreshments will be provided. For more information or to register, call Wanda Merchant at (830) 990-2717 or register in person at the TTU Administration Office at 102 E. San Antonio, Suite D, in Fredericksburg.
