Undergraduate Programs

The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is offered by the College of Arts and Sciences and requires three areas of concentration, each of at least 18 hours. Areas of concentration can be in History, English, Psychology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and General Business. The Psychology and Hotel and Restaurant Management courses are taken through Distance Learning and Off-Campus Instruction.

The Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies (BSMS) with teacher certification preparation for Early Childhood through 6th Grade and English as a Second Language is offered by the College of Education. This program also has an option for Bilingual Certification preparation. Teaching assistants in public schools may qualify for the Education Aide Exemption to pay for tuition and most fees.

The Texas Tech University Off Campus Recognized Higher Education Teaching Sites offer upper division courses only. All lower division courses (freshman and sophomore) for the core curriculum are offered by community colleges such as Austin Community College (ACC) in Fredericksburg and Central Texas College (CTC) in Marble Falls and other colleges and universities.
