About Dr. Inglis:
G. Douglas Inglis joined TTU in 2001 following a career in Siemens Nixdorf Corporation where his final posting was as Coordinator of Data Warehousing for Southern Europe. A resident of Sevilla, Spain since 1974, his work in historical demography led to his career as a systems engineer and eventually to data analysis and design before his present return to history. Combining systems and technical expertise with his historical research and writing, Inglis has published books and articles in English and Spanish about eighteenth-century Spanish Louisiana, Cuba and the Spanish Atlantic as well as data mining and descriptive analysis of commercial and scholarly data sets. Presently, he is finishing the book manuscript Time Frame for Empire: Trans-Atlantic Mail and Office Routine in Spanish America, 1764-1792.
