Graduate Student Conference Travel Information
The New Student Committee is led by Autumn Costa for the 2009-2010 academic year. This committee is responsible for communicating with new students, helping them transition into life as a graduate student in history or helping them adjust to a new graduate program, assisting the department with recruitment of new students, and supervising the mentoring system.
The Professional Development Committee is led by John Sager for the 2009-2010 academic year. This committee is responsible for organizing workshops, seminars, colloquiums, and other developmental activities in an effort to make graduate students better students, teachers, historians, and professionals.
The Social Committee is led by Tucker Barrows and Johnathan Edgeller for the 2009-2010 academic year. This committee is responsible for organizing social events for HGSO as well as assisting with departmental social events in order to promote an atmosphere that will strengthen the bonds between graduate students and between faculty and students.
All committees work in combination with the executive council and are under the supervision of the Vice President.
