People
Our Department’s greatest strength is its people. This includes 30 permanent faculty members with varied academic backgrounds and research interests, many of which cross specific field and disciplinary boundaries. The department also includes emeriti faculty members -- some of whom continue to teach, many of whom retain active research agendas -- as well as visiting lecturers and scholars and adjunct faculty who lend their particular expertise to our courses and programs.
Students are another critical input in the History Department’s commitment to academic excellence. Our department is proud to deliver General Education courses critical to the development of well-rounded graduates, as well as specific training in Historical methodology and in-depth study of particular historical topics.
Diversity continues to be represented in the
graduate students and staff members. Graduate students come from all over
the world. They bring a strong desire to become experts in their fields of study. Staff members combine many years
of employment at Tech, and a continuing commitment to provide professional support to both faculty and students.
