What is Phi Alpha Theta?
Phi Alpha Theta is an international honor society specifically for history students, faculty, and researchers. Through its publications and sponsored events, Phi Alpha Theta brings together students, teachers, and writers of history both intellectually and socially in order to promote the study of history.
Why should I join?
In the words of Dr. David Snead, "Phi Alpha Theta is a great organization for students to meet other history majors and share common interests. The organization offers tremendous opportunities for conferences, seminars, and social activities." Phi Alpha Theta allows its members to compete for numerous scholarships and provides a forum for interaction between students of all levels. Members of Phi Alpha Theta are able to attend conferences, present papers, and receive guidance within their own specialization, enabling them to become more competitive.
