Red Raider Orientation and the Honors College
Below is a helpful checklist of things to take care of before attending your summer orientation date. Please make sure to complete all of these ahead of time to make your time at orientation as efficient and non-stressful as possible:
-
Mail in your Honors College contract form and read the Honors Student Handbook.
-
Complete all of the steps on Red Raider Orientation’s checklist.
-
Take the Math Placement Exam (if required) and the Chemistry Placement Exam (if you plan to take Chemistry).
-
Compile all Red Raider Orientation mailings together and bring them with you, including materials from RRO, your primary college and the Honors College.
-
Bring copies of high school transcripts, Advanced Placement (AP) scores, International Baccalaureate (IB) test scores and diplomas, and any other applicable academic history document
-
Print off and bring a copy of the First-Year Experience course offerings to have available for your primary advisor. Remember, it is required that you take one of these classes in the fall.
We hope that by using this checklist, you will come fully prepared for orientation, which includes your first round of advising (both with your major and with Honors) and registration for your fall courses. If you have any questions, please contact Thomas Reynolds * or call the Honors College at 806.742.1828.
