Sharon (Sky) Yeates

Sharon (Sky) is a native Texan from Austin, a TTU alumnus, and a mother of two. Sharon has worked at both the TTUHSC and the Lubbock undergraduate campus, serving the university for over 20 years.  As a student at TTU, Sharon served on the staff of the University Daily and on the Student Senate.   She has been elected to the Texas Tech University Staff Senate for two terms, serving as Secretary of the Staff Senate in 2007-2008.

She is a published author whose work background includes reporting and public accounting.   Her work has appeared in numerous newspapers, poetry collections, and magazines.  An editorial piece she wrote was read on the floor of the United States House of Representatives.   Sharon believes that education should be a lifelong endeavor.
