Heather Medley, M.Ed.

Director of Admissions

Alumni Relations Director

Terry Scholar Director

Compass Program Director

When high achieving high school students start to consider their college options, I can share with you about all of the options that the Honors College at Texas Tech can afford you.  I can also answer Honors College application questions.  For those local students who are ready for a challenge before graduation, we offer the Compass Program so that high school students can take college courses at Tech. Working with Terry Scholars on campus is one of the most rewarding parts of my responsibilities as they seek to learn and grow from one another while pursuing academic excellence. I also coordinate our alumni relations and the college’s publications. Promoting the amazing things that happen in the Honors College with our current students, faculty and staff as well as with our alumni has been one of the easiest parts of my job because there are so many tremendous things going on in Honors!  I look forward to promoting the incredible things that you will do as a member of the Honors College at Texas Tech University.

Thomas Reynolds

First-Year Experience Coordinator

Advisor

Once you choose the TTU Honors College as your home for the next four years, I am one of the staff members you will see regularly during your first year.  I coordinate Red Raider Orientation each summer for the Honors College, as well as the First-Year Experience (FYE) Program each fall semester.  The FYE Program has proven to be a fantastic transition tool for our first-semester Honors students and is one of my favorite activities in the college.  I also coordinate the Friday Lunch Discussion weekly during the fall and spring semesters, the Passport Program every spring, and help students receive Honors credit for their experiences abroad each semester through the Study Abroad Waiver.  Lastly, I serve as one of the four Honors advisors and look forward to helping you achieve your educational and professional goals!

Sarah Timmons

Lead Advisor

Ambassador Program Coordinator,

Honors Book Club

If you are a student who is interested in attending medical school after completing your undergraduate degree here at Texas Tech, I’ll most likely meet you soon after your arrival here and can provide all of the information you need on participation in the Honors College Early Acceptance to Medical School Program (an agreement with TTUHSC’s School of Medicine), as well as the Undergraduate to Medical School Initiative (UMSI) program guidelines.  And if you decide to choose Honors Arts and Letters as your major at Tech, I’m your personal Advisor!  I also coordinate our large and effective team of Honors student Ambassadors, and love facilitating voluntary student reading and discussion in the Honors College Book Club.  In addition, I assist Thomas Reynolds in working with Honors students completing a Study Abroad Waiver project, and often serve as the first point-of-contact for current Tech and transfer students applying for admission to the Honors College.  I look forward to advising you as an Honors student, and hope that I’ll get to know you even better as an Honors Ambassador, HAL major, or Book Club member!
