- Honor Societies - Many Honors College students receive invitations to join an honor society. Some of those organizations have very rigorous qualifications and an invitation to accept membership in them is an honor which should not be ignored. For example, Phi Beta Kappa (Liberal Arts) and Phi Kappa Phi (any discipline) are widely recognized scholastic honor societies and Mortar Board is a national honorary which recognizes service and leadership. If you have questions about whether you should accept an invitation to join an honorary society, the links below will lead you to helpful information on how to evaluate them.
