Erica Lux
Erica Lux came to Texas Tech from Cedar Hill, a Dallas suburb. She is a Psychology major with minors in Women's Studies, Chemistry and Biology.
Erica hopes to attend medical school and become a medical examiner or military physician, and she is very interested in the politics of health care. Erica participated in the Honors College Undergraduate Research Program (URF), working with a faculty member in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures on "Indian boarding schools, female students and Victorian ideologies".
Her paper won first place among undergraduate papers at the annual TTU Women's Studies Conference in 2007. Erica volunteers with the Lubbock Rape crisis Center and the Veterans Association at TTU. She has also worked at the Lubbock County Medical examiners Office, where she has been mentored by a staff physician.
Erica especially appreciates the small classes in the Honors College, the interdisciplinary seminars, and the early acceptance to medical school program. She says, "The Honors College staff and faculty are extremely helpful and kind."
