Avery Caddell

Email: avery.caddell@ttu.edu

Classification: Senior

Major: Kinesiology

Hometown: Paradise, TX

Career Goals: Attend PT School to serve as a Physical Therapist. I would also like to find a way to work in youth ministry for a church.

Favorite Aspect of being a Bayless Mentor: Back home, I work as an intern for the youth group at my church, and see firsthand how much of an impact one person can have on a kids outlook on life. The Bayless Mentor program is doing that same awesome work in Lubbock, giving kids in tough situations positive role models as well as simply another friend they get to see every week. I have loved getting to go in every week and hang out with a kid who slowly opens up to you, giving you a glimpse of their own personality. Bayless is doing amazing work, and I am lucky just to be a part of it.

Classification: Junior

Major: Microbiology

Hometown: Hobbs, New Mexico

Career Goals: I hope to attend medical school with the long-term goal of working as an orthopedic surgeon.

Favorite Aspect of being a Bayless Mentor: I love everything the Bayless mentoring program has to offer, and really enjoy the opportunity to make a student's week a little better. There is nothing that can beat the smile that lights up your student's face when you walk into their room. Being a mentor you have the unique chance to be a positive influence in a young child's life, which could potentially stick with them for many years. It is truly an amazing thing that I hope all the mentors will take full advantage of.
