Dale's leadership in efficient plant operations was a key factor in the Operations Division being awarded the 2013 Award for Excellence in Facilities Management from the Association of Physical Plant Administrators. He has overseen and managed hundreds of Capital Improvement Projects. Many of these projects put Texas Tech University ahead of other Universities and local power plants in the areas of operational production and plant controls. The Department of Utilities far exceeds expectations as a direct result of Don's support of the employees under his charge. He goes out of his way to ensure appropriate safety training and motivates his staff to look for improvements in procedures and processes allowing them to present the best options to accomplish set tasks.
