Kelsey Miller Jackson
Unit Coordinator
Center for Campus Life

As a Unit Coordinator in the Center for Campus Life Kelsey Jackson redesigned the Student Leadership Series and Advisor EDU programs to include TED Talks, videos she created herself, and engaging activities that helped students and advisors to interact with their peers. The final result of the changes included a 90% increase in student attendance and a 62% increase in advisor attendance. In addition, Kelsey created the What's Up Wednesday program which was a great success in increasing students' awareness of the benefits of being involved on the Texas Tech campus. Through this, she assisted students in the creation of 59 new student organizations, bringing the total number of student organizations to 578. The reason these contributions are so significant is because research shows that college students are more successful if they are involved in their campus community, and one of the largest opportunities to do that is through student organizations. Kelsey's commitment to student success is evident through her involvement with these student organizations.
