Lindsay Feinberg (’02 BS in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management) lives in New York and publishes a blog. If you need advice on planning your next NYC meal, evening out on the town (party, shower, dinner and cocktails, corporate holiday soiree, etc.,) or if you’re planning a visit to the Big Apple and don’t know where to begin. Roxie V. Godfrey (’75 BS Home Economics Education and Human Development and Family Studies) Alexandria, Va., who teaches family and consumer sciences at Mt. Vernon High School, was recently named Virginia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher of the Year.
Sandra Ponder Joy (’73 BS Clothing, Textile and Merchandising) Cranfills Gap, Texas, who is the director for First Security State Bank, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of banking.
Dr. Karen Roberto (’81 MS Human Development and Family Studies, PH.D., ’84 Human Development and Family Studies) Blacksburg, VA has been named Director of the Institute for Society, Culture and Environment. The institute is tasked with strengthening the university’s competitive position for securing external funding in support of research and scholarship in the social sciences, humanities, and arts. Dr. Roberts will continue to serve as the director of the Center for Gerontology.
Alissa Sutton (’01 BS Interior Design) Los, Angeles, CA. is the Director of Corporate Design and Media Relations for Cantoni, a furniture and accessories company. The College of Human Science hosted a luncheon for local Plainview alumni at the Plainview Country Club. Pictured from left to right is Wanda Mason ’52, Dean V. Loehr, senior development officer in the college and Cindy Belt ’85.
Lubbock native Leigh Daniel and Nick Cordes are the winners of "Today Show Throws a Wedding" contest. They beat three finalist couples in a viewer vote on July 15, 2009.
Daniel, 30, was raised in Lubbock, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University. She holds two Division I national track championships. The two met in an Olympic development program for runners held near Detroit in 2003.
Cordes, 29, is an Olympic marathon trials qualifying runner. He grew up in Chagrin Falls and Mentor and graduated from Madison High School in 1998. He is an alumnus of Ashland University.
