Retailing in Scotland & Ireland
Dr. Deborah Fowler led a field study to Edinburgh, Scotland and Dublin Ireland May
20-30. Eight graduate students and 14 undergraduates participated. Intermin chairperson
Dr. Audrey McCool accompanied the group. Undergraduates were enrolled in RTL 4300,
Retailing Field Study Tour and RETL 5300, Retail Field Study Tour. Major UK retailers,
including Harvey Nichols, Jenners, House of Fraser, Primark and Marks and Spencer
were visited in Edinburgh. In addition, students visited many local tourist sites
and activities including Trinity Book of Kells Library, a Dublin distillery, Stirling
Castle, Loch Carron, Waterford Crystal and Wicklow to see hand weaving.
