Ashley Burghardt

ADM Alumni Spotlight

Ashley's passion for design and sewing began when she was only 6 years old and her grandmother taught her how to sew. She never looked back. After making a variety of dresses, purses, swimsuits and more Ashley decided to further her education at Texas Tech University in the Apparel Design and Manufacturing program. While studying at Texas Tech she participated in the study abroad program in Florence, Italy. At Florence University of the Arts she focused on accessories design and fashion photography. The skills she learned in the ADM program and at FUA proved to be invaluable after graduation when she moved to New York for an internship with Be&D, a high end handbag and shoe line. Once she completed her internship she was hired by Coach as an assistant designer on the Reed Krakoff Collection. Ashley later moved to Dallas where she was the head designer for a small accessories company. In October of 2009 Ashley started her accessories line called ASHARD RICHLEY. Since its inception the line has been featured in numerous magazines, on many television series, and has sold into over 100 stores in the USA, Canada, and Costa Rica. Ashley was named one of the top 20 designers in Texas in 2011 by Texas' Next Top Designer and was a MTV Made coach for a young girl in the Dallas area. Her most recent adventure was on the new Lifetime series 24 Hour Catwalk where she was judged by fashion all-stars such as James LaForce/Fashion Media Consultant, Derek Blasberg/Fashion Editor, and Cynthia Rowley/CFDA Award winning Fashion Designer. Ashley competed and won the grand prize of $10,000.
