Texas Tech Seniors Strut Their Stuff!
TECHstyle is an event that the Department of Design has created to show off its students in style. Apparel Design & Manufacturing Students were recognized for their hard work and efforts during this event. TECHstyle is a cocktail event with a hors d'oeuvres reception and a fashion show that was held April 30, 2011 at the Allen Theater in the Student Union building here in Lubbock, TX.
At this event, there were 19 Apparel Design student collections and portfolios for public viewing at the opening reception. The event showcased our "Denim Runway" competition, a collaboration between the ADM department, PCCA, and CCI for a high fashion denim jean competition in both women's and men's design. Winners Lauren Hogan and Lauren McGraw will both receive a trip to Guatemala and Colombia. Channel 11 KCBD's Christy Moreland also joined the festivities as the event's MC. At the TECHstyle event there were multiple student awards and scholarships presented.
Students invited friends, family, and special guests to join them at TECHstyle. Also invited were all of the Texas Tech faculty and friends of the University. Thanks to all of the people and businesses that made this event so successful.
