Rachel Anderson earned her Bachelor's in Fashion Design from Texas Tech University in 1992. From 1992-1995 she was Patternmaker and Freelance Designer for Focus Apparel Group Incorporated of Dallas, Texas. After working in Dallas, she designed Custom Bridal and Eveningwear under her own label in Houston, Texas. In 1997 she received an A.A.S from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, graduating Summa Cum Laude. From 1998-2003 she worked as Associate Designer/Merchandiser with Donna Ricco Incorporated NYC, a Better Missy Dress/Sportswear design house who sold to all Federated Department stores and Private Label including Talbots, Coldwater Creek, Chico's, T.J Maxx, and Harolds. She is currently a graduate student in the MFA Fashion Design program at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, California.
Rachel Anderson has exhibited her work at the Texas Tech Museum Wedding Dress Fashion Show in 2011 and the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts "Wear Your Chair" design exhibition in 2012.
Community service activities have included: Fashion Group International Judge for Natural Fibers National Design Competition Dallas, Texas, Costume Designer for Cystic Fibrosis Fantasy Gala Houston, Texas, New York Cares Foundation, Texas Tech Museum, Family Life Radio, Threads, Locks, & Rock Fashion Show, Lubbock Community Theatre, Project Prom, 4-H Roundup, and is on the Advisory Council for the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts.
