Margaret Dobbs, PH.D.


Margaret Nagy Dobbs is an alumnus of Texas A&M University, holding a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with an architecture major. She earned a Ph.D. in environmental design and consumer economics with a collateral in gerontology, as well as an M.F.A in interior design from Texas Tech University. Her primary teaching interests are design processes, service-learning through community-based student projects, portfolio design, and student preparation for entering the professional environment. She also maintains an ongoing interest in elements of the interior environment as they reflect and impact interpersonal and cultural practices. Research and design focuses include design for the frail elderly population, needs of highly gifted and twice-exceptional children, and housing alternatives for homeless individuals and families. Dr. Dobbs will be teaching ID 3382, period furnishings.
