Hi! My name is Leslie Kacal. I am the Lead Infant Teacher in the Ladybug Classroom. I am thrilled to be a part of the Texas Tech's Center for Early Head Start. I graduated from Texas Tech University in the fall of 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Working with children has always been my passion. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher. While in college, I fell in love with family dynamics and knew that although my heart was with children and teaching, I wanted to work with families as well. When I learned about TTU Early Head Start, I just knew it was the place for me. Our program is the perfect opportunity for me to do both. I love spending my days nurturing the children in my care. It is so fun to watch them as they learn and discover new things. Learning new ways to encourage active learning and develop curriculum that supports and enhances their early learning processes is fascinating to me. Working alongside other professionals that are truly passionate about early childhood education is very rewarding. I love getting to know the families in our program and finding ways to serve them brings me a lot of joy.
