RHIM and Interior Design Student Collaboration Project

Last fall, Restaurant, Hotel, & Institutional Management (RHIM) and Interior Design (ID) students collaborated together over the course of the semester to create fully ADA compliant retirement facility designs. The semester led up to a formal presentation that was open to the public at Skyviews Restaurant.

Attendees were led through each design from the front of the building to each carefully laid out room. Students took turns showcasing their particular role in the collaboration project. RHIM students began the presentation, taking on the role as theoretical clients, with specific requests in mind. The Interior Design students on the team then took those requests and transformed the ideas into real renderings. Students worked together in roles as either the client or designers to present fully functional and modern designs.
