Retail Management 2350 Merchandising Displays
January 2012 | Written by Valerie Hlavaty
Teams organized during the retail promotion class, RTL 2350, partner with retailers to provide added knowledge to classroom learning. Students exemplify components of service-learning and retail promotion strategy associated with the merchandising function. The students gained experience in visual merchandising and promotion. Teams create and execute visual merchandising displays in the stores Chrome, 10.20 Boutique, Havertys, Red and Black Bookstore, and Malouf's Fine Clothiers of Lubbock. A team of retail management students also promoted Buckle's main denim promotion on the campus. One group, modeled, fitted and assisted in coordinating a "Posh Wedding " fashion show for the Lubbock-base fine clothier Malouf's. We want to thank these fine companies for their continual support of our students, also, for providing job and internship opportunities within their companies.
